ALRS Student at the City of Tucson

ALRS student, Karina Guadalupe Martinez, is now at the CIty of Tucson Manager's Office as a Community Relations Coordinator! As the Community Relations Coordinator for the City of Tucson’s Climate Action Team, Karina's role will be to develop and implement outreach strategies that engage the community in climate action and sustainability efforts. Her work will focus on building strong relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to support the Tucson Resilient Together initiative, promoting resilience and long-term environmental sustainability.

The City of Tucson’s Heat Action Roadmap, a project she contributed to alongside Dr. Ladd Keith and many other experts who helped shape and guide the work, received the Strengthening Communities: Resilience & Sustainability Award from the American Planning Association Arizona Chapter on September 19, 2024.
