Stephen Bieda III has Won the Air Force Weather Agency's 2011 Weather Civilian of the Year Award
"Stephen Bieda III, from the 25th Operational Weather Squadron and a Ph.D. Candidate in Arid Lands Resource Sciences at the University of Arizona, has won the Air Force Weather Agency's 2011 Weather Civilian of the Year award. His expertise in climate and weather forecasting has brought many new innovations and products that have been employed by the Air Force Weather Agency. The distinctive accomplishments of Mr. Bieda reflect great credit upon himself and has brought the distinct honor of being weather civilian of the year in the field operating agency of the Headquarters U.S. Air Force Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Air and Space Operations, Weather Directorate. The announcement came on February 23, 2012 from Colonel Robert L. Russell Jr., the Commander of the Air Force Weather Agency. Stephen will now compete as Civilian of the Year for the Department of the Air Force, one of the three Military Departments within the Department of Defense of the United States that employs 151,360 civilians."
