ALRS PhD Candidate, Simone A. Williams, won a nationally competitive and prestigious Babbitt Dissertation Fellowship from the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. The fellowship is awarded to outstanding, early career researchers at U.S. universities whose dissertation research supports the integration of land and water policies and contributes to advancing water sustainability and resilience, especially in western states. Simone’s research project is titled “Enhancing Assessment of Groundwater Vulnerability and Contamination Risk to Improve Equity‐based Policy Outcomes in Arizona.” This honor caps a highly productive year for Simone, wherein her research was shared with various audiences and its value and potential public impact recognized by multiple stakeholders.
