ANNOUNCEMENTS
CONGRATULATIONS to Adriana Alejandra Zuniga Teran for having been named one of the "Outstanding GIDP GTA for 2012-2013!
From her Instructor of record for Fall 2012- Spring 2013- Katie Hirschboeck:, an excerpt from her evaluation:
“I’ve been blessed with some great GIDP GAT’s from Arid Lands in the past, but Adriana just might be the best ever! She was superb!
A unique contribution she provided was the way she gave me a new perspective on the needs of international students in the class and how to assist them, drawn from her own experience as an international student from Mexico. She assisted me greatly in this area, especially by taking on the job of answering the many emails I typically get from new international students who are struggling to navigate an academic milieu that is foreign to them.
To sum it all up – Adriana was just outstanding as a GAT and one I would hope to work with again in the future if at all possible!”
CONGRATULATIONS to Jelena Vukomanovic for successfully defending her dissertation, March 25, 2013.
The title of her dissertation is: "Exurbia as physical and social space: landscape drivers and ecological impacts of amenity migration in the New West."
She will be graduating in May 2013.
