ALRS Graduates Adriana and America in the News!

Adriana Zuniga Teran and America Nallely Lutz Ley are both recent ALRS graduates and currently hold post doctoral positions at the Udall Center. They have both been busy ensuring that their research projects benefit urban and rural communities,

Adriana Zuniga Teran (Spring 2015 graduate)

Adriana, a postdoctoral associate at the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy together with Andrea Gerlak, Associate Professor at the School of Geography & Development, in collaboration with Catlow Shipek from the Watershed Management Group, lead a team, that won a seed grant from the Haury program.  The $79, 153 seed grant will   pilot a project to increase community input into a neighborhood greenway along the Liberty Bike Boulevard in southern Tucson, a low-income and flood-prone area.

America Nallely Lutz Ley (Fall 2016 graduate)

America is also a postdoctoral scholar at the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy.  She was recently featured in the UA Global Initiatives’ web page acknowledging UA recipients of Fulbright awards. With her research she hopes to help rural communities to adapt to Global Change.

In addition to the Global Initiatives feature, UA news also spotlighted the numerous students and faculty granted scholarships during the Fulbright Week, which again included America Lutz Ley.
