The Freeport-McMoRan Foundation awarded $26,000 to Dr. Kelly Mott Lacroix, WRRC Senior Research Analyst, and Christopher Jones, Gila County Cooperative Extension Agent, to conduct their project “Raising Water Awareness in the Globe-Miami Community: Arizona Water 101 and Master Watershed Steward Educational Program Series.” The Globe-Miami area faces complex challenges in balancing their water supply and infrastructure with current and future demands. The goal of the project is to improve understanding of water resources by providing educational opportunities to residents to meet these challenges. The funds were award via the University of Arizona Foundation for the benefit of UA College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
